Can university student attempt ECO new syllabus paper in MAR-2011 exam

please tell me about, Can university student attempt ECO new syllabus paper in MAR-2011 exam.

You have to appear for New course only if you are a fresh student.

I have just taken admission for TYBCOM academic year 2010-11 in Mumbai University IDOL
& when i visited to university they told me that u can attempt Account 1,2,3 & Tax new syllabus but for ECo, MPP & Export u have to attempt old syllabus for this year & from next year onwards all the syllabus of IDOL student & college Regular student will be the same.

so please clear this bcoz due to this I am not able decide my study of ECO, MPP & Export.
